Victory IS for YOU!

ree

Victory. We all want to walk in it, but for many believers it has often seemed like an elusive or possibly even selfish desire. Victory couldn't actually be available for everyone... could it? Walking in victory couldn't actually be an answer for the salvation of the world... could it? In this blog you will discover why it's not only our right and inheritance to walk in victory, but it's also our responsibility to do so, and that God is not holding out on us. We'll also find out why walking in victory can actually be the thing which turns the whole world around...

The Kingdom IS Victory

At one point in my journey, was feeling distressed that I wasn't seeing victory manifest in an area of my life, and I wondered what on earth was going on, because I knew God wanted me to walk in His promises.

As I sought Holy Spirit about it, I realised that I had actually been living with an underlying sense that being not-negotiable about my own victory was somehow shallow... like as though there were more important, eternal things I should be focussing on. Yet I was starting to realise that this sense (a negative result of growing up hearing religious untruths) was sabotaging me. It had actually kept me from diligently seeking God for the keys to see victory where I'd so far not been seeing it. It had allowed me to believe that somehow God was holding out on me. As a consequence, this area had gone for many years without receiving solutions, bringing frustration to my family and I, instead of blessing, and keeping us in a place of settling rather than flourishing.

Perhaps you have experienced some similiar thoughts and circumstances? If this describes you in any way, you'll be excited to read the rest of what God showed me, because he DOES have victory for ALL of us!

I could see the dilemma and I wanted to become not-negotiable about walking in victory in every area of my life, but I needed the key for how to overcome the lies that had been going on in my heart. In other words, I needed some truth so I could see from heaven's perspective.

It was at that point, that I heard Holy Spirit say something to my heart which utterly and completely changed my whole perspective in life and gave me absolute permission to walk in His victory, and I believe will do the same for you. He said:

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS VICTORY!

I suddenly realised that the seemingly elusive and out of reach thing called victory is actually the Kingdom of God in manifested form. I immediately understood that it is only when there is victory in our lives that people can actually see the Kingdom! Wow! What a way to flip the whole 'victory is selfish' lie! I then heard Him say:

THE KINGDOM MUST BE MANIFESTED TO BE SEEN.

In other words, if there's no victory, nobody sees or experiences the reality of the Kingdom of God. If there's no victory, nobody sees the true face of our Papa God, who is full of goodness and love, and wants to bless His children, and has the solutions the world is looking for to alleviate their pain.

I realised that our victory is us actually displaying His Kingdom and His face to the world. Without it, the world is only going to see a counterfeit version of who God is, as they are doing right now. We haven't collectively walked in victory as a body, so they've not seen the Kingdom, and as a result, they have no idea what the King really looks like. Do we really know what He looks like?

When the world looks at the church now, what does the way we live say about who He is and what it is like to live in His Kingdom? And even more so, when the world looks at our lives right now, what does the way we live say about who He is and what it is like to live in His Kingdom? What does it say about who our King is? Sobering thought, hey. Because those around us will think something, and whether or not we are walking in victory will determine what they will think about our King and His Kingdom.

At the same time, now that we can see how important our victorious living is to the salvation of the world, we must know that God has a solution for bringing us into victory. Our days of defeat can be behind us if we'll hear and apply what He is saying today!

Jesus the Victorious

When Jesus was on the earth, He didn't just talk the Kingdom. He lived the Kingdom of God before men, so all could see that heaven had the solutions they were looking for. He lived in victory on every side Himself, and then imparted that victory to others. He walked in Divine health Himself, and was God's channel of healing to others. He never had a shortfall of financial provision in His life, and He always provided for others (think the multiplication of the loaves and the fishes, the temple tax in the mouth of the fish and the money bag that went with them wherever they went). He was victorious in His own emotions, displayed the fruit of the spirit wherever He went, and empowered others to do the same. He spent time with His Father and always knew what to do at any time, and when others needed a strategy or a key from heaven to help them walk in their victory, He always had it available for them (think about what happened in Luke 5 when He told them to put their nets on the other side of the boat).

Everywhere that Jesus went, He displayed the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom of Shalom, where nothing is missing and nothing is broken. A Kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17). Ultimately, He died so that this same Spirit of victory could come to live within us, and make the full resources of heaven available for our lives and the lives of those we encounter. He made it possible that we could display the Kingdom, just like He did.

I was so excited as Holy Spirit was showing this to me. And it was just at this point of realisation and excitement that Holy Spirit then gave me the kicker, and He turned the hope that was growing in my heart about walking in victory, from possibility to responsibility. He said:

THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR NOT LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD, BECAUSE JESUS HAS PAID THE PRICE FOR THE FULLNESS OF THE KINGDOM IN YOUR LIFE.

When There Are No More Excuses

Gulp. Really? I have to say, that was a sobering moment. 'You mean the reason I'm not walking in the promises of God is not because you're holding out on me God, or because the promises are not really for me, but rather that I'm just not walking in them... because of me?'

It can be humbling when all your excuses are gone and you're left with the facts. And the fact was, I was not walking in victory... and it wasn't because of Him.

Deep down in my heart, I had my excuses. I'd heard them as I cried out to Him in prayer. I'd heard them as I talked to others. I'd heard them in my self-talk to myself. And I'd heard other people speak them. Let's have a look at the excuses I was using to sabotage my own victory, and Holy Spirit's response to them, because you may well find them in your own heart as well. It's time to re-write every lie with the truth of the Kingdom.

It's Not Because He Doesn't Love You

Perhaps some of the reason why we're not walking in victory and displaying who He is to the world, is that we, His children, have not fully known Him for who He is. The God of love. It's like we know He loves us in our head, but it hasn't fully reached our hearts.

How many times, when life gives us a difficult squeeze, do we hear things like, 'Don't you care about me, God?', or 'Don't you love me?' come out of our mouths? In the area I wasn't seeing His Kingdom manifest, I really didn't think He would provide for me. My words showed that I didn't really think He cared enough to move on my behalf, or that He was holding out on me so the journey could be more painful and I could grow some more. Perhaps the Israelites thought the same thing when they found themselves going around the same mountain for 40 years, but the reality is that if their hearts had really known and believed who He was and His care and faithfulness towards them, their journey could have been 11 days.

We must know that we know that we know that God is a good and loving Dad. He loves us, and has paid every price to give us an abundant life, overflowing with the goodness of who He is. He wants to display His solutions in our lives. He wants to provide answers for the hurting, provision for those in need, healing for broken hearts. He wants us to live in His Kingdom before others, because it only in the Kingdom of God that these solutions exist.

What is the life that He wants for us, has promised us, and died to give us? Abundance.

ree

If we're not experiencing abundance, it's not because He doesn't love us or care about us. He died to give it to us, so why would He hold it back from us?

It's Not Because the Promise is Not For You

God is not a respecter of persons (Rom 2:11). What He has done for one He will do for another. He doesn't play favourites. He gives us all a level playing field by giving us all His Spirit and His promises, and then waits to see who chooses to be a 'whosoever'.

ree

In other words, God has already said "Yes" to every promise and every person who is in Christ Jesus. He is simply waiting for our "Amen" (or our agreement with this truth), so that He can display His glory.

Most of the time, our lack of "Amen" is simply because of our lack of knowing our own identity... we can't actually see ourself as capable of being one who walks in the victory we say we're believing for. For example, if your desire is to live in financial abundance or to be a successful and profitable businessperson, but you can't truly see yourself as wealthy or successful in business, then you won't live in this victory. At the same time, if you DO believe the truth about who you are, that the victorious Spirit of God lives in you, and you can see yourself walking it out, it will become real in your life.

It's Not Because Victory is Not Available

We have to know that victory is available for us at all times. There's never a time when the Kingdom or the promises come and go. They are always available for everyone, everywhere, all the time. In fact, Matthew 34:25 says that Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away. There is never a time or a season when victory is not available to us.

ree

The Word says that He will ALWAYS lead us in victory at all times. It says that Now faith is... (Heb 11:1), not next week or next year. Let's live in the truth of His victory right now!

The Keys are In the Kingdom

By the time Holy Spirit had dealt with all of my excuses, there was nothing left to think or say but, 'Well if I'm not seeing the Kingdom manifest in this area of my life and it's not because of You holding out on me or because you don't want me to have it, then maybe, just maybe there's a key that I've been missing?'

ree

And lo and behold, what happened for me when I did this? As soon as my excuses were off the table and I accepted responsibility for walking in the Kingdom of God in this area and stopped blaming God or coming up with reasons why it wasn't manifesting, my heart was actually then clear to ask the Lord to show me what the hold up was in my heart and my life. And He did. He showed me the keys I had not been applying, I started applying them, and what do you know, the Kingdom started manifesting for me!

And it will do the same for you.

ree

I realised I actually hadn't needed to suffer in lack all of those years. I'd been blaming others (or God) for why my life felt so restricted... but the Kingdom of God was actually in my heart and my mouth all of that time!

Talk about an exciting journey! No longer did I have to feel guilty about wanting to walk in victory in my life! No longer did I need to be frustrated at what others did or didn't do - I already had everything! The Kingdom of God worked and I knew it would work for anyone, anywhere, anytime - when they applied it.

ree

So believe that victory truly IS for YOU today! Put off the lies that have reinforced your excuses, and put on the truth that sets you free. Start seeking Him for the keys to see victory manifest is your life, be not-negotiable about it and apply what He shows you. Stand on it UNTIL you see manifestation. Before long, your whole life will have changed, and you'll be displaying the King and His Kingdom to the world around you.
